Keep one meeting point, one charged phone and one simple plan. In an emergency, follow police and venue staff directions first.
If a child is separated
Stop moving. Tell the nearest police officer, volunteer or pandal help desk immediately. Do not ask a child to search alone.
Keep a current photo and a guardian phone number on the child or with the group.
Before entering a crowd
Choose a visible meeting point outside the queue. Keep bags closed, carry water and avoid pushing against one-way flow.
Five crowd-smart rules
- Use Metro for long transfers and walk the final stretch where barricades require it.
- Do not stop at narrow exits for photos or calls.
- Leave a dense queue early if you feel unwell; tell a volunteer.
- Keep elders and children on the inside of the pavement, away from traffic.
- Official Kolkata Police and Metro Railway notices always override this guide.
